Joseph J. Banno, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Banno is a board-certified urologist and a Senior Partner at Midwest Urological Group, a leading urology practice serving Central Illinois since 1945. He also serves as a Clinical Instructor of Urology at UIC and Clinical Education Director for Specialty MED Training. With decades of experience, Dr. Banno has performed over 40,000 vasectomies and is widely recognized for his expertise in men’s health, sexual medicine, and advanced urologic procedures. He is also considered one of the top penile implant surgeons in the US. His clinical work focuses on delivering efficient, patient-centered care while incorporating the latest advancements in urology.

At Midwest Urological Group, Dr. Banno leads a high-volume, independent practice that has become a regional destination for comprehensive urologic care. The practice offers a full spectrum of services-from general urology and bladder conditions to specialized treatments in sexual health and regenerative medicine, including PRP and shockwave therapy. His clinical research includes hypothermia of the prostate, penile rehabilitation, and the efficacy of PPX®, PRP, shockwave therapy, erectile dysfunction, and female urinary incontinence.
